Expanded free trade has not been accompanied by an increase in U.S. jobs, according to an analysis by the website Business Insider.

Tony appeared on the September 18, 2011 episode of WADL’s television show, “Detroit Wants 2 Know”

For the many of you who have asked the link is to a PDF of the Rite Aid Union stores in the Metro Detroit area.  If you want a list for those out-state please send me an e-mail and I will send it to you.  Make sure you tell them you are patronizing them because [...]

As I look to union leaders like Mary Kay Henry, or James Hoffa, Jr., or Bob King, or Roger Robinson, or Kevin Moore, or people like Richard Trumka, I really do believe that a new paradigm in organized labor is being defined even as I type these words.

I am an American worker – but I work in Hong Kong
I should’a seen it comin’ – should’a known it all along
That you would devise a way to – outsource me

How is it ladies and gentlemen, how is it that just over 7 months into a new Michigan legislative body that we have been able to ignite so much passion and so much purpose by so many people? The answer is really quite simple, it is because there are more of us than there are of them and we have finally had enough.

LYRICS: Raise da debt ceiling! Raise da debt ceiling! Raise da debt ceiling! Raise da debt ceiling! 14 trillion in debt but yo we ain’t got no qualms droppin $100 bills and million dollar bombs spending money we don’t have that’s the name of the game they call me cumulo nimbus because you KNOW I [...]

Think about any other business that would be stressed, torn, and tattered, for so long and so strenuously as has organized labor over the last 5 years. How have they responded? Brilliantly! Eloquently! Compassionately! Bravely!

Aaron Sorkin gave us choices. Real politicians don’t anymore. And that’s just the sad truth.

Mission Statement

Our First Amendment Rights as granted and guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America states in whole:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

In the spirit and mandate of this critical vision of our Founding Fathers, we are dedicated to the ideas and responsibility inherent in these words that provide clear passage for the dissemination of information and a sharing of ideas, concepts, words, documents, and actions that are consistent with all people who believe that equality, justice, fairness and challenges to what our lawmakers and fellow citizens bring forward must be met with dedicated examination and exhaustive skepticism, not simply for the right to do such but for the strengthening of a fair and just society.

First Shift with Tony Trupiano is devoted to the higher idea of what community is and toward that end our goal on a daily basis is to shed light where there is darkness, expose wrong and to establish right, create opportunity and provide a platform for extended debate but also to provide, expect, and demand solutions to problems.

We further understand and agree that our Rights as either granted by the United States Constitution, those that have been Legislated, and those laws and practices that have been won over time that protect workers, families, religious freedom, sexual preference, and transcend issues of race and economic opportunity must be protected, cherished and taught for the betterment of all.

Furthermore, First Shift with Tony Trupiano enthusiastically seeks to empower our audience with tools and information that allow them to learn, grow and share issues that affect our lives and those of future generations. Recognizing that all too often only one side on many issues is heard, we will commit on a daily basis to fighting for truth and fairness and will go to any legal length to educate, inform and motivate the listener to seek change where needed and to demand truth, honesty and fairness in both the political and social arenas.

We are focused on results and will use whatever tools are available to us to seek justice and hold pristine that excellence and fairness are the cornerstone of all of society and opportunity cannot and will not be dependent on ones economic status, or lack thereof.

We look to build a community of the people, by the people and for the people and toward that pursuit we are dedicated to these ideas on a daily basis.
