As I look to union leaders like Mary Kay Henry, or James Hoffa, Jr., or Bob King, or Roger Robinson, or Kevin Moore, or people like Richard Trumka, I really do believe that a new paradigm in organized labor is being defined even as I type these words.

How is it ladies and gentlemen, how is it that just over 7 months into a new Michigan legislative body that we have been able to ignite so much passion and so much purpose by so many people? The answer is really quite simple, it is because there are more of us than there are of them and we have finally had enough.

Think about any other business that would be stressed, torn, and tattered, for so long and so strenuously as has organized labor over the last 5 years. How have they responded? Brilliantly! Eloquently! Compassionately! Bravely!

Jeff Radford, Producer & Engineer

 

Jeff Radford, Producer of First Shift with Tony Trupiano, brings to the show his seven years of radio experience as he directs the day to day booking and production of this show.  Responsible for the content and direction, Jeff’s passion for politics and social issues were well grounded as the son of a UAW auto worker and an Insurance executive, Jeff has been politically active from a young age and completely understands that no one political Party has all the answers but believes in the dialogue that we have on a daily basis on the show.

His passion for issues like education, protecting our Senior Citizens and helping the poor and protecting the middle class who have built the country we all enjoy gets his blood pressure up and he is willing and ably will defend his point of view when called upon to do so.

 

Jeff also has great passion for sports and has both produced and currently hosts a spots talk radio program on WTKA in Ann Arbor, MI and does on-air and producer shifts on Detroit’s WDFN as well as his behind the scenes duties as Producer with First Shift.  Jeff also produces live sporting events and does fill in work as a producer for weekend shows on WDTW and has worked with Stoney and Wojo, It Is What It Is with Sean Baligian, and morning shows hosted by Matt Shepard, Jamie Samuelson, and others. He is also an update reporter and live event reporter.

Jeff is a 2002 graduate of Hope College and a 2004 graduate of Specs Howard School of Media Arts.
